Edge is a convenient web browser because it can automatically offer to translate most websites into the primary language set in the browser settings. Here's how to set your primary language and have the browser offer to translate QuickHelp (these instructions will be in English).
- Click the Options menu
- Click Settings
- Click Languages
- If the user's primary language is not listed in Preferred languages, click Add Language (if it is listed, skip to step 11)
- In the Add Language dialog, search for the desired language
- Click the checkbox to the left of the language to add
- Click Add
- To make sure Edge displays in the desired language, click Options (...) to the right of that language
- Check Display Microsoft Edge in this language
- Edge will prompt a restart (Click Restart)
NOTE: Edge will automatically restart and open to the same page. - Ensure that Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language I read is set to on
- You can either remove English as a Preferred Language and end here or click Options (...) to the right of English
NOTE: If English is listed as a preferred language, Edge assumes that it is a language the user can read, so the Offer to translate pages that aren't in a language I read setting will not impact pages in English. You must specifically tell Edge to translate pages in English as well. - Check Offer to translate pages in this language (or however this is worded in the primary language of the browser)
- When you now access QuickHelp, you will be prompted to translate the page from English (or however this is worded in the primary language of the browser).
NOTE: If you are not automatically prompted to translate the page, you will still the the Translate icon in your browser bar (if your above settings are set correctly). Click the icon to open the Translate page.
- Click Translate (or however that is worded in the primary language of the browser)
- QuickHelp will now display in the primary/chosen lanaguage
