You, as a QuickHelp Admin, may have a specific training path you would like your users to follow for them to learn what they need to succeed. Using Skill Paths (one or more), you can guide your end users on this learning journey.

In the QuickHelp content library, assets are organized by Topic and then Category. To organize said assets for consumption, however, QuickHelp uses Skill Paths and Courses. Courses are placed into Skill Paths and Skill Paths can be assigned via User Journeys. Our research shows that end users are more likely to consume and complete training if the User Journeys contain a small number of Skill Paths and Courses.

To learn how to create a Course, add Assets to that Course and add the Course to a Skill Path, please see Creating/Modifying Skill Paths.

If you have the necessary Admin Roles, you create a User Journey in the QuickHelp Admin Portal.

  1. Click New > User Journey from the Action Bar
  2. Enter a Title
  3. If the User Journey should be available to your end user immediately after creation, check Published (otherwise, leave it unchecked)
  4. Click the Next arrow
  5. Choose All Users or Group, Department, or Job Title as the Intended Audience
  6. Click the Next arrow - - if you selected All Users, skip to Step 9
  7. Use Type Assist or click Browse to find the desired audience
    • Type assist – enter a minimum of three (3) characters to be presented with options matching what you typed
    • Browse – find and select the desired Group(s), System Group(s), Department(s)/Job Title(s)
  8. Click the Next arrow
  9. Use Type Assist or click Browse to find the desired Skill Path(s)
    • Type assist – enter a minimum of three (3) characters to be presented with options matching what you typed
    • Browse – find and select the desired Group(s), System Group(s), Department(s)/Job Title(s)
  10. Click the Next arrow
  11. Click the radio button that indicates the desired content focus for each Skill Path

NOTE: Selecting either Essential to Deployment or Productivity Focused can streamline the Skill Path assignment by automatically unassigning Courses where the majority of the content doesn't match the selected focus. Using the screenshot above, for example, if you select the Productivity Focused radio button, this entire Skill Path would actually not be assigned because there is only one Course and the majority of the content in the Course/Skill Path doesn't match your selected focus.
  12. Click the Next arrow
  13. Click the arrow next to the Skill Path name to expand the courses
  14. Check the box to the left of each required Course

NOTE: By default, all Courses are selected, so making modifications here is optional. Please be aware that Assignment completion and Skill Path completion are two different things. To get 100% completion for a Skill Path, the end user must complete all Courses within that Skill Path. However, to complete an Assignment, the end user must complete only what is marked as required within that User Journey.
  15. Click the Next arrow
  16. Choose Allow users to choose or Define sequence (only if the User Journey has multiple Skill Paths)
Define sequence determines the first Skill Path that will automatically start after the end user completes the Intake Survey. It will also determine the order in which the Skill Paths appear in the Choose Your Journey (after the end user completes the first Skill Path) This will not necessarily determine the order in which the Skill Paths appear on the QuickHelp landing page.
  17. Click the Next arrow
  18. Check the box to the left of any Skill Path to which you wish to assign a Due Date (optional) - if no Due Date, skip to step 20
  19. Select the radio button for Number of workdays or Date and fill the corresponding information
    • Number of workdays (M-F) - Starts from either the date of the assignment, or the date an end user is first assigned a license, whichever is later.
    • Date - choose a specific date from the calendar
  20. Click the Finish checkmark

If Settings > User Emails > Skill Paths  > An admin creates a new user journey is set to Always, an email will be sent to all users in the Target Audience. Please note that EU users must opt in to receive emails; if they haven't, they will not receive the email notifying them of this new User Journey.
