Problem


Clicking the icons in the Ribbon Add-In takes users to the QuickHelp Home Page instead of the destination indicated by the icon.



Solution


This could mean one of two things.


All of the icons work as expected except the application specific icon (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word)


The default Office version for the application-specific content link is 2016. If you do not have the 2016 version published in your content library, then the link will take the end user to the home page. To resolve this issue, you can either publish the 2016 version of the content, or change the links to point to a different version. Please refer to the QuickHelp Ribbon Add-In Configuration Guide for instructions on changing the office version.


None of the icons work as expected


This usually indicates that the Route URL for your organization is not set correctly in the registry.



These options are stored in the workstation registry. If the application was installed for all users, they are initially stored under HKLM | Software | BrainStorm Inc. | QuickHelp. For 32-bit Office on 64-bit Windows systems they are stored under HKLM | Software | Wow6432Node | BrainStorm Inc. | QuickHelp. If the software was only installed for the current user and once a user has launched the QuickHelp Office add-in, the HKLM keys are copied to HKCU | Software | BrainStorm Inc. | QuickHelp
